I heard a faint piano sound while I was working overtime today. At first I thought it was someone's music, but when the same tune keeps repeating I tried to figure out if I was hearing things.
Back when askHR was at Level 10, there are some who claimed that they heard the piano playing when they worked alone in the office over the weekend or at night. But when we moved down to Level 5, such incidents never happen again and I was beginning to wonder if the piano sound found its way down now.
I closed my eyes and shook my head, trying to shake off the tiredness I thought I might have that I'm starting to think I'm hearing things. Then I reasoned with myself that it cannot be because I have not heard anything back in Level 10. In fact I have never encounter incident like this in my life. So why am I hearing things all of a sudden?
I turned and spoke to Hari, "Hari, let me skype you."
He took down his headphone and I was like, "Oh, you have been wearing headphone all this time?" (No use to ask him if he is on headphone)
"Only one side." He replied.
Thinking that it's pretty pointless too, I hesitated to ask him cause suddenly the sound stopped. What are the chances that when I started talking to others this thing stop?!!
Then I heard the tune again. I immediately skyped Hari, "Hari, can you take down your headphone a while?"
He did and I asked, "Did you hear any piano sound?" (Please say yes, please say yes.)
He looked at me and nodded. Stuck his head out of the cubicle and walked to the front.
BABI CILAKA. It was just Hong Yeh playing some music from YouTube!
And of course, everybody had a good laugh. Oh well... at least it wasn't what I thought it was!
